Exonym (plural exonyms): a name given to a group or category of people by a secondary person or persons other than the people it refers to.
Example of exonym: micronationalist.
Nota bene: the word micronationalist comes from the term micronation, which literally means small nation, and is a neologism. The first reference in English to the word micronation in a popular book appears in the 1978 edition of The People's Almanac #2.
Endonym (plural endonyms): a name used by a group or category of people to refer to themselves or their language, as opposed to a name given to them by other groups.
Example of endonym: Fifth Worlder.
Nota bene: the word Fifth Worlder comes from the term Fifth World, which is also an endonym, and was first used in an indigenous sense in the book, The Fifth World: Micronationalism on Steroids, on page 4:
According to pedestrian wisdom, a micronation — sometimes referred to as a model country or new country project — is an entity that apparently intends to replace, resemble, mock, or exist on equal footing with a recognised and/or sovereign state. Some micronations are created with serious intent, while others exist as a hobby or stunt.

A Fifth World nation, on the other hand, is a small nation with a strong and established national identity. The Fifth World can be either territorial or virtual, ethnic or nonethic, so it is actually midway in characteristics between the Fourth and Sixth Worlds. A Fifth World nation is a mature micronation. The term Fifth World nation can be used interchangeably with the term social identity or irredentist group. It is interesting to note than there is also a non-indigenous description of a micronation or Fifth World nation.

According to an indigenous, non-pedestrian description, however:
A micronation is that political geographic, social anthropologic, or cultural anthropologic unit of humanity which is at least midway in size between an Italian nucleo abitato (5 buildings) and an Italian centro abitato (25 buildings), i.e. an inhabited locality, hackerspace, and/or Internet forum made up of the permanent population that would comprise at least 15 average human dwellings, or at least 36 to 48 people.
