What might be a good immigration policy for my very small, young country? After all, we ARE a whole group of friends, and I am recruiting my similarly aged friends to the country.

Most Micro's don't usually run a immigration policy as such, and with most I have seen over the years, they are just happy to gain new citizens, so don't really restrict potential citizens.
As for Alteria, we have closed Immigration at present as the government of Alteria is currently going through restructioning.

Most people have a policy on resident vs non-resident citizens.
Some have one or other, and some have both.
My opinion is that if you're basically a group of friends living in the same area, you don't need a policy - however if you're looking to grow into something larger you inevitably need to attract new members from elsewhere, as they can bring expertise, contacts and money into your group that you may not otherwise possess.

George, Would you consider what your nation has here atlantium.org/citizenship.html as a immigration policy? Just trying to confirm what is considered an immigration policy.

That's our application.
To my mind policy is really more of a decision based around "do you want let people from other parts of the district/country/world join - Y or N".
Our policy is Y - unless you're from Nigeria.

Because we were being overwhelmed by Nigerian applications that were obvious misrepresentations and/or fraudulent.

Nigerians are people yes, but the problem is the country is known for fraudulent activity.
George, A immigration policy for me is more of a set of guidelines and conditions to which a person is judged for their character to become a citizen of said nation.

Yeah, but with Tallini you get a head of state, governor, professor, dean, bishop, pope, god, astrologer, author, environmentalist, internet guru and raving nutter all rolled into one.
Think of the cost-savings!

Archangel is a head of state, hacker, healer, Eagle Scout, pilot, environmentalist, doctor, game designer, secessionist, author, fraudster and raving nutter.
You can cost-save more on him.

Archangel also claims to be a radio broadcaster on "real radio". Apparently he's quite proud of that, and thinks it makes him infinitely superior to the rest of us "sheeple". I guess I'd better not burst his bubble and accidentally let slip that I've been a popular, nationally-syndicated radio broadcaster for nearly 23 years. oops.
