I'd read this before. I find it to be a little tongue in cheek whether intended or not. I don't imagine these predictions coming true in 10 years, though perhaps within 50 years there might be some ground made.

I think we're already in the age of micronations.
Setting up a professional-looking micronation has never been easier or cheaper than it is today - and as a consequence there are far more of them in existence today than at any time in history.
30 years ago doing a print run of professional looking stamps simply could not be done for less than $10,000. Now it can be done for $150.
30 years ago you couldn't make a professional-looking 3 minute promo video without spending $5000 - and even then nobody would see it unless you got it screened on TV. Now you can do it yourself, and attract thousands of viewers around the world, for virtually zero cost.
Same goes for coins, flags and all the other paraphernalia you need to create a micronation that people will take notice of.
That said, I don't believe micronations are going to change the world in any significant way; they remain largely a part-time pursuit of people in first world democracies with plenty of time on their hands.
