Indeed, and I am sure it will, especially for collectors. Will it be a standard currency or a limited edition item, if I might ask?

The total mintage is 250 pieces, so it's really designed for the numismatic collector market in mind.
Interestingly, the same goes for most coins from "real" countries these days; most new coins marketed by the national mints of most countries are never intended to function as circulating currency.

Some time ago I mentioned that Atlantium was to be given coverage in a new German-language guide to Australia by Sydney-based journalist Barbara Barkhausen. Well, Das Australien-Lesebuch has now been published, and today I met up with Barbara in order to be presented with my copy. Pictures can be seen on my Facebook profile: www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=218647638153522&set=at.101119806572973.2417.100000248620768.100000248620768&type=1&theaterThe book itself is a very impressive tome, although its micronational scope is fairly limited, being concerned solely with Atlantium and Hutt River Province... ...but Atlantium gets more and better pictorial coverage :-) German-speakers may wish to buy the book @ Amazon.

Hey George, Now this is a gem of a "coin" if I may say so! Stuff like this is within few micronations' reach. There was, of course, in the past a travel guide to micronations, but ending up in an "official world" guide has got to have historical significance. On the website below we do have a MICRONATIONAL MANMADE WONDERS category, and the Lonely Planet Micronations, the first micronational travel guide is mentioned in the MICRONATIONAL FIRSTS. However, despite there being so many different categories, there isn't a TOURISM DEVELOPMENTS category yet. How would you address that void with a... - Date of Development
- Narrative of Development
I appreciate your help! MPR Department of History: Micronational History 101dh.mpr.io

Personally, I wouldn't, as I don't think getting 6 inches of column space in a 400+ page book is really that significant in the greater scheme of things... but I'm sure you could think of something to say.

Perhaps I can think of something with some difficulty, but I would still be missing two dates: 1. Your Date of Birth for the MICRONATIONAL PEOPLE category; 2. The Date of the Development, such as the publishing date of the book.

We had thought about doing bank notes or a coin as a collectors item at some point (since we do not believe in money); however, we thought it might send the wrong message concerning our ideology.

For those that missed it on Facebook, here's a link to Atlantium's first official video.
It features our state anthem, and footage of flags flying over the Foundation Monument @ Aurora; as you'll see, yesterday was a particularly windy day:

I am pleased to announce that Atlantium's independent postal service - which has been anticipated by philatelists for more than 3 years - is soon to become a reality.
Earlier this week the purchase of a roadside mail collection box was finalised. This will be installed outside our almost-completed General Post Office building @ Aurora on Saturday week.
The regular scheduled mail service between Aurora and Sydney will - all things being equal - be inaugurated on the weekend of our 30th anniversary celebrations - 26-27 November 2011.
I will post pictures of the mail collection box to our Facebook group in due course.
If it proves a commercial success the service may be expanded to other micronations in southeastern Australia.

Yes, that was fun.
Expensive, but fun.
Unfortunately they wouldn't let me drive any of the machinery :-(
