As those of you who follow me on Facebook are aware, I'm currently in the throes of a roadtrip which has me criss-crossing southern New South Wales and eastern Victoria. Yesterday I had the opportunity to visit Consul Jason McKerra of Lavalon at his home in Wodonga. Last night I ended up in Cooma, which was the former location of Aeterna Lucina... although unfortunately nobody there seemed to remember the whereabouts of that micronation's former territory. Today I've driven through the wilds of northern Victoria and into Gippsland, which is where the Independent State of Rainbow Creek was situated, back in the 1980s. Tomorrow I hope to locate and visit the farm in Cowwarr which was the former residence of Governor Tom Barnes. I then will proceed to Shepparton in northern Victoria, to see if I can breach the moat of the Principality of Ponderosa. Stand by for updates and pictures!

Your intrepid micronational researcher is reporting from Sale, Victoria, to where I have just returned after a visit to the hamlet of Cowwarr.
After interrogating the owner of the Cowwarr general store I was able to find the dirt track along which the former State of Rainbow Creek was once located - although none of the residents there seemed to know which of the 4 farmsteads along the road was Governor Barnes' actual former residence.
In any case, I can report that the area surrounding Cowwarr is a largely flat, treeless expanse, and no contemporary remnant of the State of Rainbow Creek survives.
The store owner seemed to think that the former governor is still alive and living in Queensland, while his wife resides in southern Victoria, and his son, Simon Barnes, lives in nearby Toongabbie.
