Independent Long Island (ILI) is not recognised by any UN state or intergovernmental organisation of states, but its overseas territory, the United Micronations Multi-Oceanic Archipelago (UMMOA), has been recognised by the International States Parliament for Safety and Peace (ISPSP), which is a truly humble and charitable organisation, but it is also registered with the Secretary-General of the United Nations in New York as an international organisation. This means that Independent Long Island's overseas territory of the UMMOA has been recognised under the Vienna Convention of 18 April 1961.
Independent Long Island is recognised by several Fifth and Sixth World nations: TTF-Bucksfan, the United Micronations Multi-Oceanic Archipelago (UMMOA), the Duchy of Bohemia, the Imperium of DeWaCo Estates, and the Grand Duchy of Flandrensis.
Independent Long Island is also recognised by two Fourth World nations: the Kingdom of Pictland and the League of Indian Nations of North America. We have begun relations with other nations and organisations as well.
Independent Long Island (ILI) now encourages diplomatic relations with Fourth and Fifth World nations. We have recently updated a webpage on our website, which now states succinctly:
If your nation wishes to recognise Independent Long Island (ILI), and this is especially desirable if it is a Fourth and Fifth World nation, we invite you to register with Corporations Independent Long Island (CILI). CILI has so far registered several nations, and even incorporated the independent and Gibraltar-based Chartered Institute of Global Business Professionals.
