Greetings to All !! In attempts to spark some sort of positive exchange between member-states of this MicroForum, the following topic is hereby offered: As is the case for most new MicroForums, old topics are renewed from time-to-time; which is a good thing sometimes, as there are new micronationalist arriving into the MicroSphere every day; and as such, many do not take/make time to check into a forum's archive, so as to educate themselfs about the very vast diversities within the Greater Micronational Movement. One such old topic: A micronation's "State Song" / "Micronational Anthem". { many are orignial, many are a mix of "macro" and "micro" words and musics } Has your micronation drafted / commissioned any such form of MicroGovt "Intellectual / Identity Property" ? { a micronation's anthem / song i.e. "voice" } If so, please feel free to provide a link to the words and/or music score. All informative replies are appreciated, and are hereby thanked in advance. ThanX !! Regards to All !! _____________ STATE SONG of the IMPERIUM OF DeWaCo ESTATES___________________________________________________

As far as I can recall, Talossa and Hutt River Province are pretty much the only micronations with original compositions as their anthem. In the latter case it's a rather non-anthemic song by 1970s-era Australian pop musician Jon English. Ladonia has two anthems - one of which is (I believe) an existing piece of serialist music, and the other is the sound of a rock being dropped in water (yes, really). I'm not sure which of the two sounds worse. As its anthem, Atlantium adopted the main theme of the Maestoso from Camille Saint-Saens' (1835-1921) Symphony Number 3 in C, which was first performed in 1886, and which was renamed the Auroran Hymn for this purpose. It was selected because it is spatially enveloping, inspirational, well known, comes in a long and a short version and posesses a very hummable melody. Unlike most anthems, it has no lyrics.

Yes, AFAIK both Talossas have a "home-made" anthem. The Republic's anthem is "Talossa be free", incidentally composed and written by myself.
The lyrics:
Talossa be free in your peculiarity! You may not command mountains, you may not rule the sea, but in the hearts of your people you're a great small country!
Talossa be free, you beacon of liberty! You defeated a tyrant, fought for democracy. So in the hearts of your people you're a brave small country.

Jirmania is very proud of having an original melody as the national anthem. The anthem Jirmania Forever was written by Mr Bartos, the Jirmanian citizen, in March 2005. And yes, it also has no lyrics.

As far as I can recall, Talossa and Hutt River Province are pretty much the only micronations with original compositions as their anthem. So does Apiya; it was composed by Prince Predrag himself.

Very nice... I like it...
I suppose, for those who donnae' know the songs, I should go ahead and post the lyrics for them here...

Domani National Anthem: "My Sacrifice" by Creed
Hello, my friend... We meet again... It's been awhile... Where should we begin...? Feels like forever...
Within my heart, a memory:... A perfect love that you gave to me... Oh, I remember...
When you are with me, I'm free. I'm careless. I believe. Above all the others, we'll fly. This brings tears to my eyes. My Sacrifice.
We've seen our share of ups and downs... Oh how quickly life can turn around... In an instant...
It feels so good to realize... What's in yourself and within your mind... Let's find peace there...
When you are with me, I'm free. I'm careless. I believe. Above all the others, we'll fly. This brings tears to my eyes. My Sacrifice.
I just want to say "Hello", again... I just want to say "Hello", again.
When you are with me, I'm free... I'm careless... I believe... Above all the others, we'll fly... This brings tears to my eyes...
Cause when you are with me, I'm free! I'm careless. I believe. Above all the others, we'll fly! This brings tears to my eyes. My Sacrifice... My Sacrifice... (I just want to say "Hello", again...)
I just want to say "Hello", again!
My Sacrifice...

Domani Battle Anthem: "Invincible" by Pat Benatar
This bloody road remains a mystery... This sudden darkness fills the air...
What are we waiting for? Won't anybody help us? What are we waiting for?
We can't afford to be innocent. Stand up and face the enemy. It's a do-or-die situation. We will be invincible.
This shattered dream you cannot justify... We're gonna' scream until were satisified...
What are we running for? We've got the right to be angry. What are we running for? When there's nowhere we can run to, anymore.
We can't afford to be innocent. Stand up and face the enemy. It's a do-or-die situation. We will be invincible.
And with the power of conviction, There is no sacrifice. It's a do-or-die situation. We will be invincible.
Won't anybody help us? What are we running for? When there's nowhere,... Nowhere we can run to, anymore!
We can't afford to be innocent! Stand up and face the enemy! It's a do-or-die situation! We will be invincible!
And with the power of conviction, There is no sacrifice! It's a do-or-die situation! We will be invincible!
We can't afford to be innocent! Stand up and face the enemy! It's a do-or-die situation! We will be invincible!
We can't afford to be innocent! Stand up and face the enemy! It's a do-or-die situation! We will be invincible!

Greetings to everyone: TorHavn's anthem is "That Honour Never Fade," original words by Our Beloved Lady Seneschal, Dame Lucy Skywalker (honestly! She was an Amerindian halfbreed). The melody is from a woman named Cecilia Eng, and we're in the process of "capturing" a .WAV file of the music, sans her words, but so far, either the software is too expensive or too hard for a blind person to manage. The URL for the original words are here: www.torhavn.org/anthem.htmlTHAT HONOUR NEVER FADE" (A Warrior's Creed) I pledge this day my sword, my heart To build and help preserve Though I must live my life apart (Pause) From the land I serve. The laws of truth I will obey In every thought and deed Stand fast while others turn away Uphold my nation's creed. I vow to heal the wrongs I see But also to forgive, My heart will guide me faithfully And teach me how to live From mountain top to ocean sand I'll guard my Monarchist's reign And by the strength of my own hand Restore the land again The deeds of kings who've lived before Have bound my life to theirs Their legends opened up a door And taught me how to dare The strength & deeds of those long gone Brings comfort, peace and joy It is the rock we stand upon That foes cannot destroy I swear to guard and keep the crown Defending all that's just No force will ever bring it down This is my sacred trust My path is clear before me now My choices all are made In honor's name I take a vow To face life unafraid Upon my soul I make a vow That honor never fade. Block quote start (Sung to the tune of Shadowstalker's " Herald's Creed") Original words & tune by Ceclia Eng at Firebird Arts) New words by: K. Hunter, A. Jorgensen, L. Skywalker We chose the melody of "The Herald's Creed" because it's majestic, serious royal --- all the right feelings in the right context. Cecilia Eng gave us permission to use the melody, so long as we didn't have the song playing on our web site. But people have asked what it sounds like, and we think what we plan to do is an acceptable substitute. =========== As for Lykosha, I chose the first eight bars of the Pachelbel's Canon; I never made any words for it. Sometimes, I think that a long chorus of wolves singing might be nice.... words without a need for translation.

It doesn't sound very Middle Eastern.
I was hoping for something with lutes, flutes and drums. ;D

In Cahoolaba we chose to use a song by SIGUR ROS called HOPPIPOLLA.
It's one of those addictive songs that make you feel inspired.
