Rebels, Pretenders & Impostors, by Clive Cheeseman & Jonathan Williams ...is a fascinating exploration of those quixotic individuals who have tried - and failed - to topple, supplant or pass themselves off as established authority figures throughout recorded history. Recommended reading for all budding micronationalists - particularly those who may be thinking of toppling, supplanting or passing themselves off as established authority figures: www.amazon.com/Rebels-Pretenders-Impostors-Clive-Cheesman/dp/0312238665

I'd like to get my hands on the Lonely Planet Guide to Micro Nations, for my library...

I'm sure they'll be a copy over at GreenMetropolis.com. It is a really great website; you should check it out.

Greetings to all:
Are you aware that you could create a link to Amazon, that would allow you to earn $$$ (perhaps to help make this board ad-free?) and could even have a list of "recommended books," ... it's pretty simple.
As for the suggestion, I'll see if I can get this most interesting book to be read to me later on. Thank you very much.

micronationalism.info/books/I haven't officially announced the website yet, but I've dug up a couple of titles that haven't been mentioned on this forum for the books section.

The author states "there are internet frauds so outrageous they must be jokes", and then says this about HRP:
Surely he's having a laugh. I mean, seriously...

Greetings! Thank you very much for posting this list. I have just logged on and reserved a copy of the Lonely Planet guide from my local library. I couldn't find the others so alas, I shall have to add them to my (ever growing) expense sheet.
I am finding myself in search of many ephemeral items, that I never thought about before as I expand with this hobby. (Wax and seals, embossers and all sorts of this and that.) I have not gone on any state visits yet --- so far, in the last year, all my efforts were concentrated solely at home and getting the physical in order as the project began as a piece of performance art. It's exhausting but fun. Anyway, I just wanted to pop in and say hello. That first book looks fascinating. (Rebels, Pretenders, Imposters, etc.)
Thanks again!

Thanks for your introduction, and good luck with your project.
You may be able to pick up a copy of Rebels, Pretenders, Impostors etc for a few dollars on Amazon.
It's an excellent read.
