Hello there.
I am Publius Valerius Argentum. I am the acting dictator of the New Roman Republic while we wait to have enough citizens to have democratic elections.
The NRR is a micronation with a difference; our constitution once existed in a propserous and successful empire that influenced all of western civilisation. Now we are reviving the Roman Republic (the democratic system of government in Rome before the emperors).

We are a revival of the Roman Republic, and a continuation of the ancient republican constitution of Rome.
New citizens are asked to choose a Roman name, and are then placed in a gens (family). Each gens is run by a paterfamilias.
Citizens are grouped into two assemblies. The Century Assembly sees citizens grouped into centuries, with those who have been more active given more weight. The Tribal Assembly sees citizens grouped into tribes of equal numbers. The assembies are the main legislatures of the Republic.
One of the main principles of the Roman constitution is that executive offices (called magistrates) should be controlled by more than one person, regularly elected and barred from reelection to that magistrate for a period of time. To that end our magistrates are two consuls (heads of state and government), two praetors (roughly equivalent to ministers), two censors (who conduct the census and place citizens into centuries and tribes etc), two aediles (responsible for public games etc) and six quaestors (who assist the higher magistrates). Every magistrate is elected for six months by one of the assemblies, and holds a veto over his/her collegues of equal rank or lower.
The one exception to this is when there is a state of emergency, when the Senate appoints a single Dictator to serve for three months.
The Senate consists of everyone who has ever served as a magistrate. The Senate is responsible for foreign policy, treaties, wars, and the creation of provinces.
