Greetings to All !! I find it somewhat strange that there are no favorite foods, or special recipes enjoyed by any other micronation / micronationalist of this MicroForum. ( ?? ) Food is but only one identifiers of any nation...macro and micro alike; which shares as nation's identity with the world community of nations, with other such identifications as: architecture, language, religion, weather / climate, etc.... Surely there are a few who have at least one...or two recipes that they would care to share.....( ?? ) This is another MicroGlobal Project offered by the Imperial Government of the Imperium of DeWaCo Estates, which could eventually evolve into a means of putting some profit into everyone's pockets; if we were to have sufficient participation, and unique enough recipes; which could be presented for publication. Thereby, *possibly* creating more exposure to the Greater MicroSphere in general; as well as, to each participating MicroGovt specifically. Sure...a book-deal it is a long-shot at best; however, the worse thing that could happen, would be that we each get a few new recipes to enjoy. ;D "Food For Thought"[/i]....as they say. Regards to All !! _______________

The Republic of Talossa has an offical national dish ("Stubborns", some kind of a sandwich) and an official national beverage (some special recipe for spiced cider), but especially the latter declaration was something that I didn't pay much attention to, as I'm incidentally living in Germany's capital of cider, as someone who loathes to drink cider. Brrr....

Spiders. They are a much-beloved beverage drunk by many Bokontonians in the Summer.
also, we have a favourite kind of bagel/sandwich called a 'Bokonton Burger'( it may not be an actual burger unless it is prepared with burger buns, but hey, it's a good, alliterative name ;D)
Ingredients:
Gerkins/Pickles Salt Beef/Ham (Un)Salted Butter Bun- may consist of a sesame bun, two slices of bread or a bagel.
Instructions;- Lightly toast the "bun". Spread the butter on each side of the "bun". Layer the ingredients inside othe "bun". Serve and enjoy.
Due to the high salt content, this is not consumed too regularly*. It's a simple recipe, but one that is perfect for picnics bor informal lunches. Best served with cold soft drinks or beer.
*- the reason that this salty dish came into being may be because most of Bokonton's population have a very low salt level. Most foods (generally) imported have a low salt content, and this may have led to the craving of the dish.

Well... The official national dish in Réunion is....
Roasted Dodo-Bird and as dessert: Chocolate-chip ice cream with Grape Soda.
The first one is very easy to do, but the ingredients, those are a bit rare.
The second one... Dare you to try!
Yours,

I think if this idea-a cookbook- got off the ground, it would be really interesting. My youngest-but-one's brother's school did much the same thing. Every family who attended the school were asked to contribute- and then all the recipes were put together. For a tiny primary school, it was a rather professional result And it generated enough profit to have made it worth their while. If my sibling's tiny school could have done it, I think that we could too. Also, as it would be themed slightly around micronationalism, that would create a "market niche" almost. ;D Just ideas!

Thank You Queen Holly I !!
I agree.....a Cook Book of "Home Grown" *Micronational Recipes* could / should be a catalyst for cementing one another together; as well as, a physical and visible means to promote the diversities within the Greater MicroSphere.....a "micro-to-macro" handshake.
Sufficient participation, and unique enough recipes, are two of the necessary ingrediants needed for success.
Once again, thank You for Your support and ideas !!
Highest Regards !! ________________
