Greetings: ... just wondering..... Some of us aren’t well-to-do… and yet: we are often inspired to visit our micronational friends. By searching for Esperanto organizations doing business in Cafepress, I came across something rather unique --- at least to me. www.couchsurfing.orgThis is a nonprofit group dedicated, apparently, to enriching people’s travel experiences, by creating a collective “circle of friends” that can offer you the opportunity to spend a while “on their couch (hence the name).” It’s free to join, and has been around since 1999. Is anyone aware of this organization? Has anyone joined? Does anyone know someone who is a member? I would be fascinated to hear from anyone who is or who knows anyone associated with Couchsurfers; it seems, actually, rather intermicronational in nature… anyone? By the way, this is not to say that I’m coming your way soon…. But maybe this might be an interesting way to connect personally. Who knows?

Very interesting idea........ I've never heard of it, but it sounds as if it could be a very inexpensive way in which to travel and visit. Thanks for the info.........

As I said at a certain other forum, I'm a member, I know a few people who are members and have used it extensively.
There has been the odd horror story in the press about couch surfing, but so long as you use a bit of common sense and screen the people who you visit/stay with, everything should be fine.
