Hello all, After at least a year's inactivity, the Sovereign Kingdom of Kemetia has been revived and we're back to the grindstone with our micronational project. Although locally we have been active, our lack of internet presence has damaged us significantly. But, due to university, etc. I was unable to be fully involved until recently. I actually have a request: we need a viable web portal. I'm not asking anyone to build it, but I would value template suggestions that people have found to work in the past (something a bit like this joomlatemplates.veero.net/demo/?template=vj-poirgo, perhaps) I am really thrilled to be back and hope to start contributing to the community again shortly. Best, His Sovereign Majesty King Adam of Kemetia

You could just nick and adapt the html code from that template...it's always worked for me. The current Oldrectoryland.com is based on 'visit luxembourg', the previous one was BT's homepage revamped, and my other website is thespark.com (now defunct). I'm webmaster of a uni society, too, which has a partly original design, but I used that website as a template for our space programme's.
Basically, just find a site you like the look of, nick their source code, use editplus or something to revamp and change it for your own needs and you end up with something very satisfactory.
The ministry of computing will be glad to help if you need it!
(by the way, we do still list our corecognition pact of with kemetia on the site--I'd had no idea you'd been inactive)

Very sorry I didn't inform you, but thank you very much for keeping us on your website.
I would very much like assistance in this matter. But would it not be problematic to take other websites source-code? Will I run into copyright issues?
Thank you for your assistance and it's good to be back!

Provided the html is used only as a template, and you change it substantially, I don't see how you would run into any copyright issues. The web is so large that the chances of anyone recognising your site as a rip-off are tiny. It depends on the complexity of the site, of course...but you can achieve a professional look with a very simple design.
