Greetings to All !!
The definition of "marriage" to one, may be different to another; and so, using the general / generic definition below as a guide for replies, please acknowledge as to whether or not you are *married*.
General / Generic Definition: "Marriage is the sharing of one's life, with that of another; as a partner, friend, lover, soul-mate, etc." ( hopefully this covers all possibilities...including "comon law" )
SOooooo.....who amoung us are "married".....legally or commonly. ( i.e. "live together"...hetero and/or homo...etc... )
Regards to All !! _____________
P.S.
NOTE: This thread is *NOT* meant as a means to pass-judgement one one form of "marriage" over another form; merely asking a very simple question....i.e...."who are *co-habitants* with another person of their choosing ?"[/i] ___________________________________________________

As Head of a Formori House (or Clan if you prefer), I can marry people according to Formori traditions.
This is a secular ceremony that can come after a civil marriage to be recognized by macronational law.
We also perform marriages that last just one year but are not recognized by macronational law.

The latter sounds interesting. What would a temporary marriage be good for? Kind of a trial-marriage?

But since 2004 the Réunian Catholic Church has taken over that task and now I only marry non-catholic individuals, which are a minority here.

Do you get to wear a mitre and carry a crozier?
I'm sure it would be much more fun if you do...

The latter sounds interesting. What would a temporary marriage be good for? Kind of a trial-marriage? Most marriages are temporary these days. People just try to forget about it. I can engage the man I'm today with the women I know today. I can't engage who I'll be in 10 years with who she'll be by then.

That's the way it probably is, but only in hindsight. When a serious love affair begins, don't we all wish it will last forever? Would someone really say "let's stick together for a year, and then let's go our own seperate ways"? How very unromantic.

No, the idea is to re-marry every year as long as it lasts... and feast with friends each time.

But that's like an institutionalized annual wedding day... haha. "Dear, do you know which day it is today?" - "Wednesday?" - "Oh no, you clown, it's the anniversary of our wedding... boohoo, you forgot it!"

Since we have a very complex calendar, we're not too strict on anniversaries!

Um no. Yes it was a virtual marriage, a virtual gay marriage.
Im not fully sure why it took place but i believe it was a combination of a macro and micro political statement on 'gay rights' and to forge an alliance with another micronation.
I felt that including it would be of interest to the community however i am somewhat biased seeing as i am a citizen of Natopia.

Interesting idea. If only realpolitik was as easy as shacking up.
