Further to Commiczar's troubles with trespassers... We've recently become aware that unauthorised individuals have crossed the border into Aurora, and made off with building materials and forest timber on several occasions. As a result we've been forced to install 24/7 video surveillance at several key sites. So much for a relaxed, crime-free rural lifestyle.

Because of the extremely low population density + large average property size in many parts of rural Australia, it's quite common - and quite easy - for shooters and even neighbours to trespass without anyone ever realising it, 95% of the time.
The "locals" know exactly which properties have permanent residents, and which do not - and they are certainly well placed to take advantage of that knowledge when it suits them.
I love the notion of a 10 mile model railway! Sounds like the sort of thing Molossia's president would implement, were his geographical footprint a little bigger. :-)
