LAVALON: The Senate of Lavalon has adopted a resolution condemning the treatment of Sri Lankan tamil refugees. For too long we have merely observed the inhumane and inadequate response of the Australian government to the refugee crisis generated by the the Sri Lankan regime. We will not let out apparent passivity on these kinds of issues be in any way interpreted as consent for the actions of the maro governments that purport to represent us. The decision of Ciaron Broeck to found Lavalon back in 2002 was motivated by a disgust at the governments that purport to operate with our consent, in particular the Australian government. The motivation to withdraw consent from existing institutions and vest it, at least symbolically, in our own, is only strengthened by the ongoing despicable actions of the Australian government towards refugees. bit.ly/7esJ2U
