To all nations, I send greetings herein:
Simply put, and for the record:
Let it be known that the Kingdom of TorHavn, the “world’s first ‘green’ country,” do herewith relate a great tale of change: the beginning of something wondrous and rare… the making of a great partnership between two great projects --- and the friendship that has withstood the test of years and trials.
All through the last eleven years, I have myself, with my Beloved wife, Ambyre, watched while the tides turned and we gained friends, and even enemies (who can forget the Rasinate, and Alameigh)yet for whatever purpose, nothing in the way of practical and bottom-line success occurred, mostly due to a lack of resources and local assistance. To wit: although TorHavn attracted friends, and citizens (some of whom assisted us as they could), we stand no closer to landed sovereignty than we did on August 3, 1999. So sad… such promise, yet due to my family’s limited financial means, so true.
Not too long ago, my wife and I determined to set ourselves on a course that led us to success --- even if it might be with another national project than our own.
You see, it was the principles that led us, not notoriety, nor the Crown --- I (and she!) would gladly follow, so long as the goals, the steadfastness, honor and ecology were true.
We went from nation to nation, researching it, and always comparing them, in essence, to our own ideals. Then, humbly and as simple citizens, we applied for citizenship in the nation we chose… hopeful that, despite the quiet we encountered on the Internet, the project was still alive. We hoped, for example, that the nation had gone offline for the simple reason that they were earnestly, concretely and successfully going forth and creating a real-world success.
Imagine my surprise, really, when this nation’s head answered both our missive and our prayers with an offer that surpassed our hopes and goals. So much faith in our simple request, and an enormous backing, that both of us were, quite frankly, taken aback (and we still are).
Sometimes you just have to believe in something. This world is becoming something both beautiful, and terrible… and Ambyre and myself are going to back the Project whose principles and goals are very like our own. A Monarch, and Friend, with whom we have both shared a quiet, and meaningful friendship, and who has confided in both of us as counsel and friend: His Majesty, King David Eugene I. Both Ambyre and myself have humbly and absolutely chosen to associate TorHavn to Bahoudii --- and one day, shall count ourselves among the lucky stalwarts who took adversity by the horns, to create something quite wondrous and unique.
Let it be known, therefore, that the Kingdom of TorHavn is going forward, in a new way and form, to support the endeavors of Bahoudii and Her King. Like I said, sometimes you just have to take a deep breath, and believe. I’ve always followed my instincts, and this I do believe --- whatever qualms and doubts that others, even friends, might have, we shall succeed.
I have already shared my feelings and thoughts with some others whose opinions I respect, but I am, of course, open to whatever counsel and advice that is certain to come, and I will try to answer, as I am able, the questions of my friends. I am excited, as anyone embarking on a great adventure might be; the razor-winged butterflies (or are they dragons) savaging my insides keep me alert and cautious… but like I said, I’ve always benefitted from listening to my Beloved’s sage counsel, and the spirits that guide me, and I know the future is now good. We thank His Gracious Majesty, King David Eugene I of Bahoudii for His faith in us. I hope that I can soon start the process of ever-increasing sovereignty.
For Crown, and Country,
His Excellency,Duke Casimir Skyhunter
The Duchy of TorHavn
Still dba “The TorHavn Project”
P.S. The website, with its documentation, ideas, and principles, shall, for now, continue (with small changes), for the purposes of education: I have been reliably informed that TorHavn is known by others as something of a role model, and I am humbly gratified that it is so. Whatever small benefit is gained from this site, we thank you. A special thank-you to, once again, the Republic of Molossia (Sir Kevin Baugh of the Ivory Mantle), [dormant] Corvinia (the wise Corvine Prince Peter Ravn I), Falkensberg (King Frederich), whose examples and wisdom I have always tried to embody, and none of whom I will ever forget.
…. All right, you can all go back to what you were doing before I cleared my throat (exiting soapbox mode)
