Heyla to all ---
How many people here used to have a site with the old Geocities? (Hands, please!)
And: how many of you are aware of a site called geocities.ws?
Just so you know: This group of "rescuers" have made off with your old web pages, and "archived" them on this huge undertaking. If you still have a living, growing, changing web site, which is no longer the same as the site as was when Yahoo! closed Geocities, I would firmly recommend that you travel over to geocities.ws, and see what's what.
Now: if you no longer update your own site (at whatever place it might have migrated to (for example: mine is at http://www.packwolf.net), or if your sense of history _likes_ the idea of this archive, then no problemo... I'd just take a little peek anyway.

A report on Geocities.ws:
Well, I'm now the "owner" of geocities.ws/lykosha, and their "control panel" interface isn't the friendliest in the world, but I can learn.
A word on their timeliness NOT, but it's faster than they said it would be (they said 6 months; it was more like 3 weeks. And, if you're "visually impaired," don't look for help.
I'm a bit concerned for those nations that had sites on geocities.com; their content is at the mercy of someone who might not be "micronationally friendly." Who else has a site on geocities.ws? Perhaps we might create a "ring" of ".ws" pages...
