Is the MicroSphere so small that the "macro" govts consider such to be more of a "gnat on the a$$ of an elephant" view-point; or, would any confrontation ( regardless of the degree ) eventually result in some form of recognition....tacit as it may be ??

If one is seeking tacit acceptance I think it's a much better idea to work co-operatively with one's neighbours than confront them.
This is the strategy Atlantium has adopted with regards Aurora; we are currently working towards the development of the Province as a tourism destination in its own right; this has the potential to attract much-needed cash to a depressed rural area presently lacking in man-made attractions.
This is - unsurprisingly - a matter of some interest to the local municipal government, whose active support we are seeking - and which we anticipate receiving.
This will likely result in our being endorsed on official local and state government promotional material, give us a presence at the annual local public festivals, and possibly even eventually a seat on the municipal council.

Maybe the word "confrontation" was a wee-bit too extreme; maybe the word should have been more like "acknowledgement".

When I think "confrontation" I think nutters with guns holed up behind the boarded-up windows of an abandoned trailer park somewhere in backwoods Idaho or West Virginia.
That sort of "recognition" is probably best avoided.
"Acknowledgement" is a much more user-friendly term :-)
