The United Nations calls upon developed countries to dedicate a small percentage of GDP to to aid. Contributing to the international community in terms of aid is almost a sign of legitimacy for developed nations. Are there any micronation that pursue a program of international aid? I'm aware of a couple of micronational projects that moved to become charities, but are there any micronations who maintain an aid budget as just one part of their activities? At the Republic of Lavalon we have a small aid program, which we implement through kiva.org.

Before a full-time job became something of a luxury, I was donating somewhere between $1,500 to $2,000 per annum to various non-profit organisations. In fact, just my Childreach sponsorship, which was supporting a Vietnamese girl and her family, was receiving over a dollar a day, and I supported at least two dozen non-profit organisations every year. No, I was not making $100,000 a year, nor was I making even $50,000. I was just a little less egotistical most people think I am.
Today I don't even get the money I used to give back then, when I put all my organisations put together. No, I don't even come close.
So you can say that I've given a greater percentage of my gross personal product than any country has given of its gross domestic product.
Today, however, I believe that if you are donating more than one percent of your income, you are donating too much, so much that you may be endangering your own welfare.

"Operation: Fans For Friends" ( Code Name: "Beat the Heat" ), and "Operation: Food For Friends"; are the major charitable projects that the Imperial Family and Government have been devoted to and dedicated to for well over a decade.
"Operation: Fans For Friends" ( Code Name: "Beat the Heat" ), donates window and oscillating fans and small a/c units to the needy during the summer; with emphasis directed towards the elderly, the ill, and children. In years past, major discount retailers have provided quantity discounts; however, as these discounts have become fewer and fewer, less fans and a/c units have been made available.
"Operation: Food For Friends", as the name implies, is a food drive conducted by Citizens and Subjects of the Imperium; and this project too, directs it's efforts and resources towards the elderly, the ill, and children. ( info archived at microforums / info available at websites )
Each of these projects are conducted with the cooperation of the Church Of Mankind Everlasting ( "C.O.M.E. HOME" ); which is a multi-denominational religious institution.
There are several other "macro" national and international charities that the Imperial Family and Government have donated time and money to over the years; of which, the Red Cross, the United Way, the International Children's Fund, etc......are only a few of such organizations. ( scandals have adjusted some of our contributions ) ____________________________________________________
