Greetings to All !!
The Economic Engines of many MicroGovts are diverse, but are limited within diversity; which is due to the fact that the majority of micronations are driven by things other than economics; as well as, the fact that the good majority of micronations are still in the early stages of their formation. ( time will cure most )
Of the products and/or services provided by your miconation, what per-cent are "manufactured" by your MicroGovt; and what per-cent is manufactured by another nation ( micro and/or macro ), but "marketed" by your MicroGovt ?? ( approx / est % )
What turns the wheels of your treasury's economic engines: ...."manufacturing"...or..."marketing" ??
Regards to All !! _____________
P.S.
NOTE:
It is well worth noting, that a good per-cent of micronations have "Virtual Commercial Centers" ( i.e. on-line stores ); and many have "physical" sales centers as well.
Most goods available for purchase include gift / novelty items; many also promote "collectors" items, such as: coins, currency, stamps, etc.
Some micronations provide "services" as well as "products"; such as: computer services, educational services, travel services, publication services, etc. ___________________________________________________

After thoughts....... .... The manufactuirng and/or marketing of: Flags, I.D. Cards, and Passports are *ALL* excellent examples of items needed by almost any MicroGovt; which is a potentially profitable project for any MicroGovt to invest some of it's time and capital in. Another possible avenue to explore...might be "web-site" creation... i.e... "Nation Creation" / "Create-A-State"; whereby, one might attempt at designing other MicroGovt's Virtual Embassies for a small fee. ( i.e. "macro" = "Nation Building / "micro" = "Nation Creation" / "Create-A-State"...i.e...virtual aspects only...take ideas and apply ) "Nation Creation" / "Create-A-State" was first attempted and accomplished by several members of the Imperial Family, when they were commissioned to create the Virtual Embassies for the People*s Republic Of Galt / P.R.O.G., and the Federal Republic of Eastern Edinburg / F.R.E.E.; due to the fact that neither of these member-states of the Imperial Commonwealth had anyone who had the expertise / experience to undertake the task / goal / job. For their efforts, each "Creator" was given $100. by the MicroGovts of PROG and FREE. Here again...just some additional thoughts on this topic.... ( money-maker for the "micro" and the "macro" alike ) Regards !! ______________________________________________

66% Offer a service, with half of these using a trade, and the other half 'selling' other services. 34% Manufacture or design things, though al of the 34% utilize 'macro' resouces e.g card makers, photographers' prints and T-shirts.

I disagree. Most micronations seem to have difficulty finding US $15 to register their own domain name, much less the many hundreds or thousands of dollars required to fund the manufacture of more complex products. The micronational market is both fractured and infinitessimally tiny. Having said that, I'm aware of two businesses who have had some success by producing specialised products targeting the micronational world: www.yourstamps.eu/ who produce postage stamps www.atlanticbanknote.com/ who produce banknotes It's interesting to note that these businesses are owned by people who have no involvement with any micronation. However, I have no idea what percentage of their turnover is generated by micronations; not much, I'd assume.

Thankyou for sharing the link to Atlantic banknote, I have often wondered what would be involved in getting some decent micronational notes produced.
Is anyone in the forum aware of any businesses that sell custom passport style documents?

Is anyone in the forum aware of any businesses that sell custom passport style documents? Why yes, but they are rather expensive... although not much more than a UK passport would be, and I suppose that the creator would be open to all sorts of negotiations. Thankyou for the link!
At those prices (which are as you say, reasonable when compared to the usual price of a passport) I think I might be better off investigating how this individual makes his passports, and look into obtaining the materials!

Yes, I have always thought about maybe doing a deal with the individual... You could perhaps negotiate a mass produced(ish)/wholesale price... I suppose that would really be the only way to go about it.
