Congrats. We in the Republic of Talossa wrote and rewrote many laws to be able to issue ID cards, but never got around to actually doing it.

We issue ID cards for government Executives and Diplomats who want them, but since Cesidian law has something called a right to privacy... FUNDAMENTAL COMMANDMENT K. You shall not deprive a God of His/Her right to privacy. ...we keep almost all personal data off the cards, as the example below shows: As you can see, there is none of the data typically available on government ID cards or driver's licences such as Date/Place of Birth, Sex (which should really be Gender, but even that is confusing sometimes), Eye/Hair Colour, Height, etc. Our IDs merely have the nation's name (which can be either Independent Long Island or United Micronations Multi-Oceanic Archipelago), the person's picture, government position, title(s), names, residential address, email address, issue and expiry dates, and a bar code representing the national's number.

Having seen Mr Tallini's efforts there, I am going to have to seriously improve the design of ours!

Mentioning this thread here triggered a short dispute in the Republic of Talossa. I´m reading it right now. Good old classical micronational debate indeed. How many active citizens Talossa has by August 2009?

In July / August 2009 I noticed approximately 5 to 10 active citizens. Many of us are on leave during these months. The recent census (May 2009) said something like 16, the overall turnout of the Presidential election (May 2009) was 11. In the heyday of the Talossan Republic, around 2007, the population was something like 25 or 27, if I remember it correctly.

I've redesigned out ID card, still a bit messy, but greatly improved.

Wow, I guess I caused a miniature revolution at the Republic of Tallossa then, LOL!
However, more than my "effort", the ID card you have seen is the work of an Independent Long Island — I always seek local help whenever I can, even if the organisation has no relationship with the government — company, which does a fine job with their templates, and yes, my tinkering with their pretty good system. "Local production" is the best option, and a better one yet is if you can produce your own ID cards with your own machines/tools.
The company I use produces a fabulous product, at a reasonable price, and they ship quickly. Personally, I had both my Independent Long Island and United Micronations Multi-Oceanic Archipelago cards done by them, and I also had a quite different custom card done, which shows I'm "Clergy", and in particular, the Bishop of the Cesidian Church.
So I'm full of ID cards of one kind or another! ;D

I've redesigned out ID card, still a bit messy, but greatly improved. Greetings !! I like the new design, and agree with Baron Von Servers over at the Open MicroForum, with regards to the cloth being used as an "anti-forgery device"; which is a rather unique concept, as I do not know of any nation ( micro and/or macro alike ) that has ever put their nation's Cloth & Colors to such an advanced and multiple use. Regards !! _________

Thanks for all the compliments, everyone! I have found this really good software called 'Box Shot' which renders 3D images from flat ones for the use of ID card previews, eBook cover previews etc. Sorry for the watermark, but I used the demo software. Nice...
What do you think of the 'Box Shot' software based on your experience?
Is it powerful, or overrated?
What does it do besides 3D images?

I think that the Box Shot software is very good, although the demo was slightly tricky to use (although I assume that is because it's a demo). It can create books of all kinds- for example ring-binders, soft/hardcovers, books in different positions etc. It can also make each 'shape' in different styles. It's quite a good business tool at quite a reasonable price, but I personally would not purchase it-as it's quite a specialist program, I don't have enough use for it. I suggest you download the demo, and have a look at the site. www.boxshot3d.com/

Atlantium takes a more traditionalist stance on the issue of official identification; we issue each succesful citizenship applicant with a beautifully-designed A4-sized full-colour certificate.
Those who are prepared to cough up US $5 can have a hard-copy printout mailed to them as well.
From or perspective the cost of manufacturing and mailing 1200 or so ID cards isn't justifiable at this stage.
