Greetings, all.
For the past few weeks, Molossia has been involved in Kiva. Kiva is an organization that allows people to lend money via the Internet to microfinance institutions in developing countries around the world, which in turn lend the money to small businesses. The minimum loan is US $25.00, which is lent to the recipient of your choice, and eventually repaid, to be then lent to another recipient, and so forth. These micro-loans help entrepreneurs round the world make better lives for themselves, their families and communities.
I have created a Kiva Team, called Intermicronational Team Kiva. The idea is that all of the team members represent their individual micronations, and participate in Kiva on behalf of their micronations. Molossia and Vikesland are team members. I would like to invite other micronationalists to participate in Kiva and join Intermicronational Team Kiva. This will help promote micronationalism as more than just an eccentric hobby and make it part of the real world - all the while helping the real world.
If you are interested, join Kiva on behalf of your micronation. You could join as a private citizen but that sort of defeats the purpose of being "intermicronational", doesn't it, so join on behalf of your nation.
Then, drop me an e-mail and I will invite you to join Intermicronational Team Kiva. Then, make a loan, to whomever you like on the Kiva website. This is important, you must agree to and be able to make a loan, minimum of US $25.00. Please, if you can't make a loan, don't join Kiva - again, that's the point! (By the way, I don't get any money for this, this is NOT a scam.)
I hope you will consider this project. It's fairly easy, fairly cheap, and good for the world - and the micronational world. Kiva's website is www.kiva.org, and Intermicronational Team Kiva is located at www.kiva.org/community/viewTeam?team_id=8300.
I look forward to hearing from you!
