I've long been fascinated by the mysterious Indus Valley civilization - the world's first truly urban society. This is an interesting article about recent advances in understanding the so-far undeciphered "Harappan" language: www.time.com/time/world/article/0,8599,1919795,00.html

It's like Linear A in Crete. It could open up a real library of knowledge on ancient times!
I can't wait!!!

There is a lot of evidence to suggest that the Indus Valley civilization maintained an extensive maritime trade network with the early civilizations of the Fertile Crescent, and may in fact be the source of the "Eden in the East" myths that are common in ancient Mesopotamia and the Levant.
Fascinating stuff.
