Those who remember the Republic of Lomar might find the below interesting.
It's a message posted to the Unrecognised States Numismatic Society's mailing list several months ago by a person closely involved with Lomar. Apparently - despite appearances - Lomar still exists, and has plans for a revival of some sort.
Lomar was a well-known micronation founded about a decade ago by a guy called Laurent Kleenewerk. It received a huge amount of media attention for issuing passports to stateless individuals and refugees who did not possess any documentary ID. At one point it had something like 10,000 citizens and/or passport-holders.
It shut down most of its activities after falling victim of a Nigerian-run fake passport-selling scam.
It later evolved into an NGO named the "Regency of Lomar" focusing on humanitarian and charitable activities. I understand it is or was formally registered in France as an NGO. Some time ago its websites all disappeared.
I'm not sure exactly what Mr Schlapps involvement is, but I gather that he's a priest or monk in an obscure christian religious order from Germany...

Subject: [UnrecognisedStatesNumismaticSociety] Regency of Lomar
Dear Friends,
after almost a Year, with several bouts of severe Illness and with a heavy
workload at Church and with all my Charities, I manage finally to give a
Live Sign. I assure you that LOMAR is not dead, but we have completely
reorganising the System after more and more unreliable People tried to
ursurpe us. At the moment we have given up the Ambassador model. LOMAR will
be now reregistered in Switzerland in a Neutral Country and will soon
relaunch its Website. The Governance of LOMAR will be under the REGENT of
the newly constituted Free and Sovereign Order of the Star of Lomar. This
will be a strictly humanitarian and Service Order and not a medal club. We
will keep up with the high Ideals of our Foundation and its Symbols but get
it more Streamlined and we are surly planning more Coins. It was a tough
decision wether to decline our activites or after more than 12 years of work
to start again.
Yours sincerly,
+Klaus
