Dear colleagues, Are there any people around with experience in making Wikipedia (English version) articles on micronations? We'll greatly appreciate some advice from such an expert. We have already published an article on Wirtland in the Bulgarian version of Wikipedia ( tinyurl.com/dk5n7a). We want to start an article in the main English-language Wikipedia, and have it linked to the Bulgarian version. Please advise how to do that. Many thanks! Greetings from Wirtland, Cris P.S. I've tried several times to insert my avatar (flag) in my profile, but it never works. Has anybody experienced same problem?

There's a specified maximum size for avatars, so if your image is larger than that it may not display.
Avatars should be no larger than 100 pixels square.
Re the Wikipedia article, I'm happy to assist, but you'll need to be patient, as I've not had much time to devote to WP so far this year. I had intended to improve the quality of your article on the LOM Micro Wiki, and then copy it to WP. I hope to have time to do this in the next couple of months.
In any case, the LOM web portal is already linked to from all of Wikipedia's major micronation articles, so significant volumes of traffic are already reaching our list, forum and wiki.
LOM's Micro Wiki is well on the way to surpassing Wikipedia as the most comprehensive, reliable and objective data source concerning micronations; there is no doubt whatsoever that by the end of the year it will have achieved that outcome.

no offense, but the 'official' wiki seems to have an irrational problem with all micronations not already published there, immediately deleting them and called them extreme hoaxes. I made the same mistake, and was immediately jumped upon by a WikiGiant.

I've actually come to the opinion that its pointless publishing anything on Wikipedia. There is so many self-opinionated "Experts" on Wikipedia, that even information that is backed up by sources is deleted or removed as being incorrect, extreme or what ever else they tend to refer to us as.

Your more than welcome, Yes I have altered or added to articles on Wikipedia, but found that my comments were changed or even deleted, even when the information I added was factual and correct with referenced sources. After half a dozen tries I gave up.

It looks like some power-crazed admin has deleted the article - despite the fact that there was an "Article for Deletion" discussion still in progress.
I would recommend leaving it a while before attempting to resubmit it - and perhaps become a regular contributor to other articles in the meantime. This would demonstrate that you are a member of the WP community - not merely a fly-by-night editor who writes one article then disappears. WP admins generally take a dim view of people who are seen to be using WP solely for self-promotion in that manner.
And *please* do not say that you "sought my approval" for anything; I have no authority to "approve" anything.
