Greetings to All !!
NOTE: The following topic may be a sensitive subject for some, as it focuses on an issue that is known to be quite divisive within certain segments of society; and as such, please view with an open mind, and provide your personal ( macro ) and your professional ( micro ) points-of-view if you will. Thank You.
I posted this topic over at the Open MicroForum several weeks ago, and it received a lot of very interesting and informative views.
Question:
Does your MicroGovt have any official and/or unofficial policy or laws, for or against the issues of "Gay Rights"; and if so, please feel free to present the information.
This issue is currently receiving mixed-reviews ( mostly positive ) within the Imperial Government and Family; which is due to the fact that one of my GrandSons has "come out of the closet", and announced that He is a gay man; and is considering to "marry" His companion. ( "gay-marriage" is another topic unto itself )
The Imperium's new Official "Law of the Land" is: "Don't Ask & Don't Tell"; and protects individual's rights, but also carries with it personal responsibilities as well.
Thanks in advance for any and all informative exchanges.
ThanX !!
Highest Regards to All !! ____________________

Article II of the present Provisional Constitution of Atlantium states that all citizens have " equality in law, irrespective of age, race, sex, sexuality or disability."
Our proposed new Constitution, which has been under development for the past four years expands this list to include: "age, race, culture, gender, sexual orientation, disability, religious affiliation, political preference or genetic constitution."
The proposed new Constitution's preamble also includes the phrase "We hold as inalienable truth the fundamental equality of all living entities possessing self-awareness..."
The terms "genetic constitution" and "posessing self-awareness" are, we believe, unique to any extant constitution.
The first is a recognition that in the next few decades genetically modified human beings (and potentially also self-aware genetically-modified part-human and non-human species) are likely to exist - and that discrimination against such individuals will inevitably occur.
The second is, we believe, aside from genetics, the fundamental definition of what constitutes a human being - and may also potentially apply to some higher animal species.

Greetings !!
Very interesting views for consideration by any MicroGovt; or for that matter, all "macro" govts might need to take a look-see too.
Extremely forward looking.
