Greetings to All !!
Does your MicroGovt attempt to copy / imitate / emulate / model itself with any "macro" nation, with regards to social, political, religious standards, etc; or instead, does your MicroGovt strive / seek to seperate, as much as possible, itself from any-and-all existing "macro" nations ??
Of course, one need not imitate / emulate / copy / model the "macro" neighbor-nation which your micronations shares its borders with; if in fact, your micronation models itself after a "macro" nation.
Also, along that same trend-of-thought, one need not model his or her micronation after a modern-day "macro" nation; but could model itself after a "macro" nation / empire out of history...and apply today's technology to it's infrastructures, institutions, associations, organization, corporations, etc.

I greatly admire the achievements of the Norman King Roger II of Sicily, who was perhaps the most enlightened ruler of the European middle ages. His court at Palermo brought together scholars from across the Greek, Jewish and Muslim worlds as well as from Western Europe, and it became known as a great centre of learning, tolerance and inter-cultural exchange. Roger himself was a fluent Arabic speaker - which was almost unheard of among European rulers at the time (and right up the present day, in fact). I named my cat after him.

Nice ideology, nice cat name. Bokonton greatly admire Switzerland, New Zealand and Australia. I think because NZ and Australia are almost ''new country projects'' themselves, as they were originally colonies, yet they also had to blend modern with tribal -Maori/Aborigine- they have learned to create a working society. That said Australia-and to a small extent NZ- are terribly racist and chauvinistic, which is a nasty trait for a nation to have and one which we abbor.

Australians are not chauvinistic or racist!!!
We are merely the absolute best country in the world - totally unlike all the other poor, dirty benighted lands beyond our borders, which are inhabited by trolls, monsters and yabbering weirdos in funny clothes.
Or so I'm told.
;D

That doesn't stop them being great countries.
