At that price I'm sure they will find happy-go-lucky customers to rent for a weekend, perhaps even for an entire week. However, at $25 million plus per year, I doubt even Warren Buffett or Bill Gates would be willing to take the annual trip. After all, $25 million doesn't buy what it used to, and the money seems harder and harder to earn these days (and easier and easier to spend). Between credit cards, monthly donation bank account subscriptions, and rent-a-country deals, as well as global economic depression, and what Italians call employment precariato (isn't it strange there isn't even a special word in English for chronic unemployment or underemployment?), it has become too easy to spend money, and too hard to earn it.

Quite undignified.

I agree.
However, given that Hans Adam is quite the economic laissez faire evangelist, it's not much of a surprise.

I understand and somewhat feel that pimping out your country is sort of less than "dignified" but it does open up a possibility. Perhaps micronations could open up their little pieces of ground to tourism. Molossia regularly welcomes tourists and sells kitsch on the side. But perhaps you have more of a draw. Your micronation is situated on a lake, near the seashore, or has a private fishing pond or stunning "territorial views" (to be read, lotso trees).
Or maybe you have a few acres with occupied stables and a small mother in law flat. Rent out the apartment for a weekend, offer bed and breakfast, saddle time, pristine views, etc., etc. Of course this would qualify as a bed and breakfast business in most jurisdictions and be subject to all the rules and regs therein. Round here that requires a business license, motel license, B&B license. But that only applies to B&B facilities with more than 2 rooms available for rent. Get around that by having one sleeping area available. Your macrojurisdiction may vary.
Or if you have a large field with some trees, make it available as a seasonal camping ground.
Were Dagostinia able to acquire a larger and more attractive piece of land, we would be open to the idea of opening a 1-room B&B and advertising it with the unique draw of renting a micronation for a few nights. With a few less zeros than Liechtenstein.

We are not opposed to tourism, in fact we will most certainly encourage it for a variety of reasons, but there is quite a difference in welcoming visitors and selling your national soul.

My suggestion was merely to take Liechtenstein's idea and pare it down to the point where the soul remained priceless.

You're talking about Hutt River Principality, and yes, tourism is potentially the largest revenue earner for any territorial micronation.
It's certainly a large part of the strategy for Atlantium. In fact, the weekend after next I'm going to be getting some people to quote us on the next stage of improvements at our Aurora province, which includes the construction of several new roads, a car park and the levelling of several sites on which new commemorative monuments are to be erected in the second half of the year.
As usual, photographs documenting these activities will be posted to our Facebook group for all to see.
