As a consolation prize, today the Jirmanian flag and I are in Cowra. Photograph to follow.

Quite funny to see how people still don't want to realize that Yoshua ben Youssef must have looked more Semitic than Scandinavian...

Meh.
As I've already stated elsewhere, it's obviously a statue of Aragorn, King of Gondor.

...and to think, if only you'd been prepared to compromise your principles and your sanity you could have seen Jirmania's flag stuck to the door of a slum dwelling in Trenton, Missouri years ago.

Lucky you. All our attempts to get a picture in front of Miss Liberty were overexposed... So the only picture we eventually had was this one:

Glad to hear that in one single case, we outstripped Number One in the flag-showing business There are many copies of the statue all over the world. I believe there is one in Colmar (Alsace), the birtplace of the guy who created it. (I was too lazy to go back to my car where the flag was kept at the time I was there.)

New spots on our map: 1. A reportedly beautiful town ANNECY in France On this photo: Three French policemen. It is such a shame France no longer uses those cute round police hats. With them, the picture -- according to my calculations -- would have been approx. 20 % cooler.2. BUDAPEST, a surprisingly pleasant capital of Hungary On this photo: Yours truly with Ronald Reagan. The statue is really big, it almost made me feel inferior ;-)

Oh yes, there is a big mess resulting from the transition between old and new Google accounts (jirmania.org runs on "Google Apps"). Google even forced us to register another, completely new account. I should resolve it soon and also get the pictures back to the main site (so I will finally be able to post direct links to them).

I was more than happy to photograph one of our newest citizens in Nürnberg, one of the loveliest German cities I have visited: Coming soon(ish): Romania, (hopefully) Israel

We too, a few years ago, demonstrated our superiority on some Texan-born US President by multitasking (i.e. breathing) while eating a pretzel. I must have a picture somewhere...
